Coconut Oil Coffee: A Delicious Boost for Your Morning Routine
If you want to take your morning coffee to the next level, adding coconut oil might be just the thing! This creamy, energizing drink has gained popularity among health-conscious coffee lovers—and for good reason. Not only does it enhance flavor and texture, but it also offers a range of health benefits.
In this post, we’ll dive into the benefits of coconut oil coffee and share a simple recipe so you can enjoy this delicious upgrade to your daily brew.
Why Add Coconut Oil to Coffee?
Coconut oil is packed with healthy fats, specifically medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), which are known for their ability to provide a quick and sustained energy boost. Here are some key benefits of adding coconut oil to your coffee:
- Increases Energy & Focus – MCTs in coconut oil are quickly converted into fuel, helping you stay alert and focused.
- Supports Metabolism & Aids in Weight Loss – MCTs can help boost metabolism and encourage fat burning, making them a great addition to a weight management routine. They may also promote satiety, helping to reduce cravings and prevent overeating.
- Improves Digestion – Coconut oil contains antimicrobial properties that help promote gut health, balance gut bacteria, and support smooth digestion. It may also help prevent bloating and constipation.
- Promotes a Creamy Texture Without Dairy – If you’re dairy-free or just looking for a silky-smooth coffee without cream, coconut oil is a great alternative. (see image below!!)
- Contains Antimicrobial Properties – Coconut oil has natural antibacterial and antiviral properties that may support overall health.
- Keeps You Full Longer – The healthy fats in coconut oil help keep hunger at bay, making it an excellent addition to your morning routine.
How to Make Coconut Oil Coffee
Here’s a simple recipe to create a deliciously creamy cup of coconut oil coffee:
This is how mine turned out, I added a blend of coconut and almond milk (CALIFIA FARMS- you can get at Walmart or wherever you get your groceries) so yummy!!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of hot brewed coffee (your favorite blend): this one is my favorite!
- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil (organic, unrefined for the best quality)
- (Optional) 1 teaspoon of honey or maple syrup for sweetness
- (Optional) ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon for extra flavor
- (Optional) 1 tablespoon of unsweetened almond milk for a creamier texture
Instructions:
- Brew a fresh cup of coffee.
- Add the coconut oil (and any optional ingredients) to the coffee.
- Blend everything together using a blender or milk frother until smooth and frothy. (This step is key to getting that rich, creamy consistency!)
- Pour into your favorite mug, sip, and enjoy!
Tip: If you don’t have a blender, you can stir vigorously, but blending gives it that irresistible, creamy finish.
